Midnight Estate
A decrepit cart accompanied by the clatter of its chains echoed in the night. Strangely, it found its path to the dark estate as if guided by a malevolent hand, after all, it was certainly not the corpse at its helm that led the way, crows feeding upon the carcass suggested at least as much. Inside the cart was the latest guardian of Miss Midnight, a dark armored knight, the dents on his armor suggested he had seen many battles and lived to tell the tale.
Within his hands, was a scroll, the official seal of Exalted kept a firm grip upon its content, assuring only its rightful recipient may lay vision and acknowledge its content.
Upon arrival in the estate’s front yard, an eerie black smoke oozed out of the main door, greeting silently the guardian as it forced open the door of the cart, reducing it to pieces.
Hesitation was always this guardian’s weak point, he lacked confidence in the power he represented, and once again it showed in his clear discomfort of the situation, rushing to its master side was his way to escape the situation, he never was fond of the powers that Edenia D’Arachna, Syl’s mentor, represented.
“ Subtlety was never your forte “ the malevolent voice of the Dark Siren, Edenia, echoed within the halls as she referred to his obvious clumsiness and loud footsteps.
“What are you carrying.. “ she demanded questioningly, something in the way he referred to it being for the eyes of Miss Midnight only provoked Edenia, whom was always itching for a way to create discord.
“ Certainly you are not suggesting it being too important for me... are you. “ She replied as she extended her right hand, clearly demanding to proof and secure read its content. Out of habit, reflexes or perhaps only fear, the guardian stepped back, at the same moment he realized the grave mistake he had just committed.
“ You were always so.. unpleasant. I will not miss you “ she murmured to him as with a simple movement of the hand summoned a dark spirit that forced him against the wall, lifting him up slowly towards the ceiling as he was being choked to death.
The said scroll was a letter inviting Miss Midnight to a gathering of the group known as Exalted.
Edenia was never fond of meeting new faces, she didn’t liked the idea that her order, the order of ecclesia had to make its presence known, but in a way, was a perfect opportunity to look for her protégé’s next guardian, seeing this one had met such an unfortunate fate.
